Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary is situated in Yavatmal area that is an isolated national park in Maharashtra. The sanctuary provides every visitor a tremendous opportunity to travel around a wide range of wildlife species.
Placed in Pandarkawada district, it encloses an area of 148.63 sq.km, sprawling amongst the Patanbori and Parwa Ranges of the Pandarkawad Forest Division. The sanctuary is widespread for its exotic hilly-undulating territory and wildlife miscellany. It found its name from the ‘Goddess Tipai’ sited near the Tipeshwar village in the sanctuary area.
There are plenty of rivers such as Purna, Krishna, Bhima and Tapti that irrigate the sanctuary from all angles. Having lots of water from these rivers, it is also popularly known as the Green Oasis of Southern Maharashtra. The sanctuary is completely a basalt area constructed by the blast of lava a century back, highly treasured for its diversity of flora such as herbs, grasses, and bamboo forests.

Opulent Wildlife & Biodiversity
This sanctuary is enclosed by numerous other widespread wildlife reserves such as Nagzira, Tadoba-Andhari, Bhamragarh, Chaprala, Navegaon, Pench, Bor, and Painganga. Thus, tigers from these reserves generally live in the Tipeshwar Wildlife Forest.
Park Houses: The park home includes 25 species of mammals, 125 species of birds, 22 species of amphibians and reptiles. Bengal Tigers, leopard cats, sloth bears, Indian leopards, Indian bison, and Indian gigantic squirrels are among the animal species that live in this sanctuary.
A Wide Range of Bird Species: Over 182 bird species belonging to 46 bird folks are found here, including 85 species of scarce birds comprising the peafowl. It is also an abode to 6 scarce reptile species.

How To Reach
By road through Pandharkawada. Yeotmal is ~75 km away. Adilabad Railway station is ~35 km away. Nagpur airport is ~172 km away. Mumbai is ~850 km.
Best Time to Visit
October to February is ideal. The temperature is pleasing all through the year. Avoid heavy rainfall from June to September.
Accommodations
Available at the Irrigation Rest House which includes a VIP suite and residence for 16. The park opens 7-10 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.
Things to Carry
Carry some snacks and food with ample of water. Don't forget your camera to capture all the memories!
Safety & Warning
The forest is striking and comprises of good potential for tiger detections. At present there are lots of local run taxis to visit the forest or one can visit driving through their own vehicle along with local guides.
